I have visited marvellous and popular street event last Sunday. Thousands of people were having fun and were celebrating Notting Hill Carnival the largest street festival in Europe. It was first held in 1964 as an offshoot of the Trinidad Carnival, celebrating Caribbean culture and traditions in London. Carnaval taking place every August Bank Holiday weekend. Children’s Day / Family Day on Sunday the 28th of August and The Grand Finale Parade on Monday the 29th of August. This amazing array of sounds, colourful sights and social solidarity spread throughout W10 in west London, the Carnival celebrations take over the areas of Notting Hill, Ladbroke Grove and Westbourne Park. Two days of fantastic live music ranging from reggae to dub to salsa. The celebrations also include traditional street food, like a whole lot of jerk chicken and fried plantain, traditional drinks and cocktails and lots of fun all day long! Great place for party lovers!
